HOOVER, Ala. - As Mark Stoops and company made their rounds at SEC Media Days, how the Wildcats will replace National Defensive Player of the Year Josh Allen was a frequent topic of conversation.
It is unlikely any single Kentucky player will be able to replace the production of Allen, at top-10 pick in the 2019 NFL draft, but the chances of the outside linebacker group as a whole providing the pass rush UK's defense will need could increase with a bit of good news in the coming weeks.
Florida State transfer Xavier Peters, a former four-star recruit who committed to UK in high school before ultimately signing with the Seminoles, is on campus this summer and has applied for a waiver to play immediately this fall, Stoops confirmed Thursday.
