Stoops believed they practiced with purposeful preparation all week. During the game they brought exceptional energy, but when they were put under pressure they didn’t have the fanatical focus necessary to win.
Instead, a few bad habits resurfaced. The best example was a miscommunication on the final drive that allowed Georgia to easily complete their second hitch in a row near the far sideline to give the Dawgs critical yards.
