It wasn’t always pretty, but the Kentucky Wildcats got it done against Vanderbilt Wednesday night, winning 71-62 inside Rupp Arena. Although the Cats eventually won by nine points, the game itself actually felt much closer. Kentucky trailed 35-28 at halftime, and the Cats and the Commodores traded leads six times throughout the matchup. UK led the game for just over 19 minutes.
Tyrese Maxey and Nick Richards were both big contributors down the stretch. Maxey ended the night with 17 points, four rebounds and two assists; Richards added 15 points and 11 boards. Ashton Hagans and Immanuel Quickley both finished with double-digit scoring as well, adding 12 and 11 points, respectively.
