The Fayette County Public Schools system isn’t quite ready to move forward with a fall sports season–yet.
Earlier on Friday, FCPS announced that they will put a hold on the upcoming fall sports season, just one day after the Kentucky High School Athletic Association released plans to begin practicing next week with games set to follow in the coming month. The KHSAA voted 16-2 on Thursday to let practices begin this coming Monday, Aug 24.
In a statement released on Friday afternoon, Fayette County Public Schools Superintendent Manny Caulk went ahead and canceled any practices that were scheduled for Monday in order to allow more time and opportunities for members of the board and staff to look over the proposed safety plans.
