NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Kentucky quarterback Stephen Johnson scored on a 9-yard touchdown run with 37 seconds remaining, but Mark Stoops' decision to go for the win with a two-point conversion backfired with an incomplete pass and 24-23 loss.

Johnson's pass on the two-point conversion bounced off the hands of a leaping Tavin Richardson.

Kentucky's defense, which was gashed for 334 rushing yards in the game, stopped a Northwestern 4th-and-1 at the Northwestern 39-yard line with 2:31 remaining to set up the dramatic finish of a bizarre game.
