Ex-Kentucky, Baylor coach Guy Morriss has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s

Former Baylor and Kentucky coach Guy Morriss, 66, has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, he told WKYT-TV in Lexington, Ky.

Morriss said he was diagnosed last fall and has been undergoing treatment.

“It’s hard to accept,” Morriss said.

Morriss, who played for 15 years in the NFL, says he has trouble writing his name and even the alphabet. He says there are times when he feels fine waking up in the morning but others where he cannot remember things.

Morriss — who coached UK in 2001-02 and Baylor from 2003-07 — said he suffers from short-term memory loss, mood and personality changes, and has difficulties dressing himself.
