After scoring just two points in the first half of Kentucky’s game against Florida, Nick Richards came roaring back to life in the final 20 minutes, contributing 17 points in the same number of minutes. Richards finished his afternoon in Gainesville with 19 points (8-18 from the field and 3-5 from the free-throw line) and seven rebounds in 30 minutes. Without Richards’ lively second-half outing, Kentucky likely would not have been able to overcome the 18-point hole they’d dug themselves into earlier in the game.
“The coaches gave me a challenge to see if I could turn it around,” Richards told reporters after the game.
