Edinburg (TX) High School kicked out of playoffs after player attacks referee

Edinburg High School has been kicked out of the Texas High School football playoffs after one of their players attacked a referee last night.

Here is footage of the ugly incident:

A Texas high school football team has been removed from the playoffs a day after one of its players charged on to the field and knocked down a referee.

The Edinburg senior slammed into the ref after being ejected from the game.

Here are some comments about the decision to kick Edinburg out of the playoffs:

“The district has decided to remove the Edinburg High School football team from the playoffs after an unexpected incident involving a student that occurred during a football game on December 3, 2020,” the Edinburg CISD said in a statement, according to CBS 4 in Texas.
