Congratulations to former Cat Dwane Casey, who was voted Michael H. Goldberg NBCA Coach of the Year by the league’s 30 head coaches this afternoon.
Casey, a member of Kentucky’s 1978 National Championship team, led the Toronto Raptors to a franchise record 59 wins during the regular season; however, another early exit from the postseason sparked rumors he could be on his way out. The Raptors were swept by the Cleveland Cavaliers for the second time in the past three postseasons earlier this week, which TSN’s Josh Lewenberg says could be enough for Raptors president Masai Ujiri to fire the winningest coach in program history.
