Kentucky’s homegrown star has won the state’s most prestigious prep award.
On the eve of the Sweet 16 Dontaie Allen was named Mr. Basketball. The University of Kentucky signee won the award even though he has been sidelined with an ACL tear since late December. Prior to his injury, Allen scored more than 50 points in six of 12 games.
Allen is UK’s first Mr. Basketball signee since Dominique Hawkins in 2013.
