The Kentucky Wildcats are 1-0 in 2021, and a big part of that is the breakout game Dontaie Allen had Saturday in Starkville.
Now, Allen has collected his first collegiate award, as he was just named the SEC Freshman of the Week for his performance vs. Mississippi State. The Falmouth (KY) native helped Kentucky rally from a a nine-point second-half deficit to win in double overtime thanks to his career-high 23 points.
The 6-6, 198-pound guard played 32 minutes and made 8/13 shots, including 7/11 from three-point range. He added four rebounds and a blocked shot.
