After months of waiting his turn to open the season, Kentucky redshirt freshman guard Dontaie Allen finally got his moment in Starkville, lighting up the Mississippi State Bulldogs for 23 points on 8-13 shooting and 7-11 from three in the 78-73 double-overtime victory. It was the start of a stretch that saw the Falmouth, KY native knock down at least two 3-pointers in seven of eight games in the month of January.
In the team’s final nine games to close out the regular season, though, Allen has shot just 2-15 from deep, finishing with ten or more minutes in two of those matchups.
