LEXINGTON, Ky. — The documentary shining a light on the four Kentucky football players who helped break the color barrier in the Southeastern Conference will air on television for the first time Monday.
"Black in Blue" tells the story of Nate Northington, Greg Page, Wilbur Hackett and Houston Hogg, the first four African American football players in the SEC. Northington broke the league's color barrier when he played in a game for Kentucky in 1967, the day after Page died from complications resulting from an injury in practice.
"Black in Blue" is directed by Academy Award-winning filmmaker Paul Wagner and executive produced by former UK quarterback Paul Karem.
