Devin Askew likes Terrence Clarke at point guard, ignores negative chatter

After a rocky start to the season, UK head coach John Calipari made the decision to shake things up in Kentucky’s starting lineup, sliding Terrence Clarke over to point guard in hopes of adding a much-needed shot in the arm to the struggling offense.

As a result, UK’s “official” point guards, Devin Askew and Davion Mintz, have seen a slight shift in their respective roles, transitioning to more of an off-ball role with more catch-and-shoot opportunities on the perimeter.

While the new-look offense remains a work in progress – Clarke managed 14 points (6-13 FG, 2-4 3PT) to go with three assists, two rebounds and one steal in a team-high 38 minutes against Notre Dame, but turned the ball over four times – it’s one Calipari is confident in moving forward.
