LEXINGTON — Less than a month after Kentucky basketball's shocking NCAA Tournament loss to Saint Peter's, the hype for the next Wildcat team is already growing.
National media outlets have begun releasing their way-too-early 2022-23 rankings in the wake of Kansas's NCAA title Monday, and John Calipari's squad is generally included among the first teams on the list.
At least two outlets have tabbed the Wildcats as the No. 1 team in their early rankings. Even the websites more skeptical of Kentucky two years after a 9-16 season and one year after arguably the worst NCAA Tournament loss in program history slot the Wildcats somewhere in their top 10.
