Derek Willis signing with German basketball team

Willis will sign with a German professional basketball team, according to The Kentucky All-Star Game’s Twitter page. His fiance confirmed the news. It’s unclear what team it is, but it’s still a chance to make a good living while playing pro ball.

A 6-9, 228-pound forward native of Mount Washington, Willis played four years at Kentucky, including all 38 games (15 starts) as a senior en route to an Elite Eight finish. He averaged 7.0 points and 5.4 rebounds that season.

In 103 career college games, Willis connected on 39.9 percent of his 3-point field goal attempts and hit 80.
