On Mother’s Day, 2021 four-star wide receiver Dekel Crowdus announced his commitment to Kentucky, choosing the Wildcats over the likes of Oklahoma, Ohio State, Auburn, Michigan, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and Penn State, among others.
One of those “other” schools? Louisville, who apparently didn’t even get a second look from the top-250 prospect in the nation during his recruitment, despite extending an offer.
In an exclusive interview with Kentucky Sports Radio this morning, the in-state star was asked about his decision to commit to UK over some of his other prestigious scholarship offers.
Simply put, he wanted to stay in Kentucky and be a “hometown hero.
