It’s something about playing the Mississippi State Bulldogs that puts Dontaie Allen in the right frame of mind.
Despite Kentucky bowing out in the second round of the SEC Tournament on Thursday afternoon, it was the Pendleton County native who once again had a career outing against MSU. Just two days into 2021, Allen exploded off the bench for 23 points on 7-11 shooting from beyond the arc in the first matchup between the ‘Cats and ‘Dogs. Over two months later, he pours in another 23 points, this time on a 6-13 clip from distance.
Unfortunately for Kentucky, he needed a seventh triple to keep the season alive.
