Another Kentucky Track & Field alumnus will bring home a medal from the World Athletics Championships in Budapest, Hungary. Daniel Roberts, Class of 2019, won bronze in the 110m hurdles this afternoon, finishing in 13.09 seconds. Fellow Team USA member Grant Holloway took home gold with a time of 12.96. Jamaica’s Hansle Parchment finished second at 13.07, just two hundredths ahead of Roberts.
This is Roberts’ first-ever World Athletics medal. He won the 110m hurdles at the U.S. Championships in Oregon last month in 13.05 seconds. Holloway, who ran for the University of Florida and has been Roberts’ rival in the event going back to their college days, had a bye to Worlds as the reigning world champion.
