Jamal Murray, our Jamal Murray, is closing in on Curry’s record 122 three-pointers made in 2006-07. Murray currently leads all freshmen with 99 on the year, leaving him only 23 away from matching Curry’s NCAA best for a rookie.
If Murray were to continue on his season pace of just over three made per game, Kentucky would need to reach the SEC Tournament finals and the Final Four to give him the record.
That’s not to say he couldn’t do it sooner, though. Murray has 14 in his last three games.
