LEXINGTON – Perhaps the best Kentuckian in college basketball last season could be headed back to the Bluegrass State.
Former Cooper High School star Adam Kunkel announced he will transfer from Belmont earlier this week. According to ESPN, Kentucky and Louisville are among the programs that have reached out along with Xavier, Creighton, Dayton, Arkansas, Iowa State, Cincinnati, St. John’s and Oklahoma.
“I think some college coaches that may not have looked at him in high school probably see what he’s done and the way he’s done it and where he’s done it at and they will take an interest in him,” said Cooper coach Tim Sullivan when asked about whether Kentucky or Louisville could be legitimate options for Kunkel’s next school.
