Duke head coach Mike Krzyzewski met with students to explain his emotional outburst during Tuesday night’s game against Pittsburgh.
Coach K screamed at the “Cameron Crazies” and told them to shut up for a chant directed at former Duke star Jeff Capel, now the head coach at Pitt.
Krzyzewski explained that his behavior was in part due to his emotional state following the unexpected death of Kobe Bryant:
The 72-year-old coach explained to a group of 40 to 50 students that he was in a “fragile emotional state” because of the death of Lakers legend Kobe Bryant, who he coached to two Olympic gold medals in 2008 and 2012.
