Kentucky Wildcats guard CJ Fredrick, an Iowa transfer and former Covington Catholic High School standout, is expected to miss the 2021-22 college basketball season after undergoing surgery this week to repair a hamstring injury, the team announced Saturday.
Fredrick announced in May he would continue his career for the Wildcats.
Fredrick won the 3-point shootout at Big Blue Madness and had hoped to return from a leg injury for Kentucky's game earlier this week against Duke before he suffered the hamstring injury.
Fredrick received interest from the Cincinnati Bearcats, Xavier Musketeers, and several other schools - per reports - before committing to UK.
