Churchill Downs is considering increasing its capacity of reserved seating to 60% at the 147th Kentucky Derby.
New Churchill Downs President Mike Anderson said the home of the Kentucky Derby is working on safety measures for a possible increased capacity at the race after an announcement Monday by Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear allowing businesses, including bars, restaurants, gyms and more, to increase indoor capacity from 50% to 60%.
"With the governor's announcement yesterday, we've started to analyze how we can flex up and remain nimble for the weeks to come for any additional charges and restrictions as that might come out," Anderson said.
