The man replacing Eddie Gran as Kentucky’s running backs coach has an extensive rap sheet of 1,000-yard rushers. Once an All-Pro running back for the Atlanta Falcons, John Settle’s former pupils range from Jonathan Taylor and James White to Derrick Ward and DeAngelo Williams. After spending one day on the field with Chris Rodriguez, one player immediately came to mind, James Conner.
“I like him. I think he’s very talented,” Settle described Rodriguez in a Zoom conversation with reporters Monday afternoon.
“I like the fact that he’s attentive. He’s a guy that wants to be very good, wants to learn.
