Name, image, and likeness is going to turn college basketball up on its head–whenever the laws are finally set into place.
Time is running low on the July 1 start date, when a handful of states will have NIL legislation ready to roll and student-athletes will be legally allowed to make money off of their brand. As of right now, Kentucky doesn’t expect to be one of the states that will have NIL rules by then, although NCAA President Mark Emmert did recently say that he might just step in to provide a temporary solution if nothing else is decided.
