LEXINGTON – There might not be a player in college basketball more important to his team than Kentucky star forward Oscar Tshiebwe, but is he actually the nation’s best player?
Kentucky has outscored its opponents by 319 points in Tshiebwe’s 466 minutes on the floor this season. In the 174 minutes Tshiebwe has been on the bench, the Wildcats have outscored opponents by just eight points.
Tshiebwe leads the country in total rebounds per game (15.1) and offensive rebounds per game (5.31). He ranks second in the country in double-doubles (12) and has established new career highs in points in each of the last two games.
