Dominique Hawkins missed his third straight game Tuesday night with the ankle injury he suffered against Ole Miss in the conference opener. We were originally told that injury was minor, but John Calipari has since said it is a high-ankle sprain, meaning Hawkins will be out much longer.
That is not good news for Kentucky’s backcourt.
After the too-close-for-comfort win over Mississippi State, Calipari said, “We need Dom back badly. We are playing some guys that don’t deserve to be in there and you end up playing them a lot of minutes.”
Calipari did not mention any names, only telling reporters those “guys” are giving up too many points defensively.
