If there was one bright spot in Kentucky basketball’s 62-59 loss to Louisville, it was the 19-point, 7-rebound effort the Wildcats got out of graduate transfer guard Davion Mintz.
Despite shooting 6-12 overall and 4-6 from three, though, Mintz didn’t get a single stab at Kentucky’s three end-of-game shots to either tie or win the game.
Instead, freshman guard Devin Askew missed a go-ahead three with 22 seconds to go, followed by senior center Olivier Sarr missing a game-winning jumper with six seconds remaining, and then BJ Boston missing a deep 3-pointer at the buzzer to send the game to overtime.
