Greetings from my own stomping grounds of Danville. I’m in town for a variety of reasons this week, starting with today’s KSR Tour Stop at Sun Tropic Outdoors. I’ll admit, I’ve never been, but it sounds very exotic. I bet there’s a plastic palm tree involved.
First thing’s first: a stop at Burke’s Bakery, a Danville institution. While some may go for more complicated confections like cream horns and danish, I prefer Burke’s simple glazed yeast donuts, only 55 cents a piece. Or the donut holes, which you can almost not feel guilty about eating until you realize you’ve had ten.
