I have been a consistent critic of the non-conference football schedule for as long as I’ve been writing on this site. That encompasses three UK head coaches (Brooks, Phillips, Stoops) and a variety of ups and downs in the program. And in all that time, UK has played a total of ONE team from another BCS conference, and that is Louisville each and every year. ONE. TEAM.
Now some might argue this is smart scheduling in the SEC and when you are Kentucky and with our history, you go for all the cheap wins you can get. And taking a risk playing Louisville every year is more than enough risk in the scheduling department.
