Every Tuesday I provide the breakdown of the UK defense from the previous weekend in down and distance scenarios. Against Mississippi State, lots of negatives can be pointed out. A porous rush defense doomed the Cats as well as poor 3rd down defense. The offense also didn’t do any favors for the Cats but the defense looked flat most of the game. Here is the analysis from Saturday:
1st Down Combined Season Statistics Breakdown: The rush defense was actually pretty good on 1st down with both touchdowns short yardage situations.
Run: 16 rushes for 50 yards, 2 TD
Pass: 11-13, 94 yards, 1 INT
Run: 49 rushes for 166 yards, 3 TD (1 fumble recovery)
Pass: 44-66, 499 yards, 2 TD, 2 INT, 1 sack (1 fumble recovery)
