In the Mark Stoops era, the quarterback has been this very odd mix of guys who were decent at everything and great at nothing. Stephen Johnson separated himself from the Whitlow-Towles-Barker class with his determination and clutchness but the reality is that Johnson was a decent thrower and decent runner with toughness making up the difference. Now we enter the Terry Wilson era, maybe. And if this becomes Wilson’s team for the next few seasons, it will be Kentucky’s first true dual-threat QB since Shane Boyd. Since 2013, Kentucky has only gotten 1,461 rushing yards out of its QB’s in 602 carries.
