Kentucky Basketball is on a Tennessee vacation but with road games in Nashville and Knoxville in place of Dollywood and the Gatlinburg Space Needle. The team left Lexington on Sunday—three nights before tomorrow’s game at Vanderbilt—to get ahead of the weather, and they won’t return to the Bluegrass until Saturday evening following a game against the Tennessee Vols.
Looking out his hotel window at the snow falling in Nashville, John Calipari told his Monday radio show listeners, “I’m not sure we would’ve been able to get here to play the game.”
Checked in earlier than planned, Calipari said the staff is using the extra down time with the players to hold individual meetings and expanded film sessions, among other team activities to keep everyone engaged.
