Over the last several years, top-ranked recruiting prospects have been outspoken about their desire to play for John Calipari and the Kentucky basketball program, with the “dream school” phrase being a go-to time and time again.
And while several of those prospects – on this team alone, Tyrese Maxey, Kahlil Whitney, and Immanuel Quickley said it during their respective recruitments – ended up signing on the dotted line when it came time for a decision, others such as Jalen Johnson (Duke), James Wiseman (Memphis), and Jaden McDaniels (Washington), among numerous others, landed elsewhere.
After a hard-fought recruitment consisting of multiple blue-blood programs, 2020 five-star guard and Kentucky signee BJ Boston falls in the former category, not the latter.
