Our old pal Billy Gillispie is back in the news today. The former Kentucky coach is now the head coach at Ranger College, a junior college in Ranger, Texas, and according to The Dallas Morning News, the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) just ruled that Gillispie’s team used an ineligible player last season. The player, Joshua Simmons, played in every game last year, averaging 11.4 points and nine rebounds. Ranger College is appealing the decision, but if the ruling stands, they’ll have to forfeit every game in which Simmons played. (So, every game)
Ranger also had to forfeit their first four games of the season due to incomplete paperwork filed by another school on behalf of a transferring player.
