Gillispie’s team forfeited 4 games during the season for using ineligible players.
Here is an excerpt:
The NJCAA official, and Ranger College president Bill Campion, told The News that Ranger has appealed the decision. If the ruling stands, Ranger likely will have to forfeit every game in which the ineligible player participated.
Two sources said Monday that the player in question is 6-6 Joshua Simmons of Irmo, S.C. Ranger College’s website lists Simmons as having played in every game, averaging 11.4 points and nine rebounds as the Rangers went 31-7 and finished fourth in the NJCAA national tournament _ the highest national finish in Ranger’s 90-year history.
