A governor is often considered a state’s most powerful and influential person. However, new data from USA Today highlights the discrepancies between that fact and the money elected officials earn compared to the annual salaries of college football coaches across the country. In fact, governors will make about 6 percent of what the highest-paid public school football coach in their state will make in 2019, on average.
In Kentucky, Mark Stoops is said coach. He’ll bring in an approximate $4.8 million this year, according to USA Today’s annual database of coaching salaries released earlier this week.
