Wait, what?
Auburn’s Kerryon Johnson and Georgia’s Nick Chubb were given First Team honors in the coaches’ vote, while Snell and LSU’s Derrius Guice were placed on the Second Team. Johnson’s First Team nod is a given; after Saturday’s SEC Championship, he now leads the SEC in rushing yards with 1,320 to Benny’s 1,318. But fellow First Team selection Nick Chubb had 1,175 yards and 13 touchdowns to Benny’s 18. Yes, he had to share the backfield with Sony Michel, but given a green offensive line and the number of school records Benny broke this season, how can you not give it to him?
