After an 0-5 start to the 2021 season, Belfry leaned on its star running back all the way to a 3A state championship. As a result, Isaac Dixon has been named Kentucky Mr. Football by the Kentucky Football Coaches Association.
The news was announced on Wednesday by the KFCA, per the Courier-Journal. Dixon, a 5-foot-11, 195-pound senior running back, ran for 1,986 yards and 29 touchdowns on 196 carries while also catching three more scores for an additional 184 yards. He played both sides of the field, as well, recording 46 tackles and a team-high four interceptions, one being returned for a touchdown.
