The PGA Tour is in Central Kentucky for its Barbasol Championship out at Nicholasville’s Champions at Keene Trace Golf Club. Later this week, a field of 156 golfers will tee off in a four-day event with $660,000 and 300 FedEx Cup points up for grabs to the winner. This year’s champion will also receive the final invitation to next week’s Open, a new twist to the Barbasol Championship format.
But first, the week’s festivities began with several lead-up events to the tournament, including Tuesday’s fourth annual Kentucky Children’s Hospital Mini Pro-Am. This year, Kroger Field played host as patients from the Kentucky Children’s Hospital and some of their closest friends and family played a nine-hole mini-golf course with PGA Tour and DP World Tour golfers.
