Friday night’s Player of the Game Award goes to Bam Adebayo, who recorded his seventh double-double of the season with 15 points and 18 rebounds. The career-high 18 boards were the most by a Kentucky Wildcat in the tournament since the 1950s — the FIFTIES!!!
Back then, Bill Spivey grabbed 21 in 1951 and Jerry Bird grabbed 24 in 1956. Adebayo’s next up in the books with his 18 here in 2017.
After the game, Calipari spoke of Bam’s free throws, not his double-double, telling reporters, “Well, again, what’s great about him is he’s making free throws.
