Austin MacGinnis waived by the Los Angeles Rams

The search for Austin MacGinnis’ permanent NFL home continues.

After losing out on the starting kicking job, the Los Angeles Rams officially waived the former Wildcat on Friday afternoon ahead of Saturday’s 53-man roster deadline.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter was the first to break the news, with MacGinnis being one of 17 Rams players waived on Friday.

Prior to being waived, Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic was the first to report that the Rams officially decided to go with rookie kicker Sam Sloman, who the team chose in the seventh round of the NFL Draft back in April.
