After not playing this season due to their involvement in the FBI’s probe into college basketball, Austin Wiley and Danjel Purifoy are ready to try their chances at the next level. Bruce Pearl told CBS Sports’ Matt Norlander that both sophomores will declare for the NBA Draft. Last month, the NCAA ruled Wiley ineligible and his appeal was denied. Purifoy is stilling waiting for official word on his status, but expects the same.
Wiley and Purifoy’s families were allegedly given $18,500 by former Auburn assistant Chuck Person, who faces six federal counts for steering players towards financial managers in exchange for $91,500 in bribes from a cooperating FBI witness.
