The Auburn Tigers have been arguably the most disappointing team in college football this season, and it's only getting worse.
That's because the team has dismissed star wide receiver D'haquille 'Duke' Williams, head coach Gus Malzahn announced Monday night.
"When individuals fail to meet the expectations of our program, there has to be consequences," Malzahn said. "I gave D’haquille the chance to prove himself. I am disappointed that it did not work out."
Williams had 12 catches for 147 yards and a touchdown in five games this season. He had 45 catches for 730 yards and five touchdowns last season after arriving as a big-time junior college transfer.
