After trailing by as much as 11 in the first half, Auburn stormed back to defeat Kentucky 77-71 in overtime of the Midwest Regional final.
Kentucky had a chance to win in regulation, but the final possession ended in chaos. Auburn quickly took control in overtime. A three-pointer from P.J. Washington cut the lead to three with 16 seconds remaining, but it was too little, too late.
Just like the final game of the 2018 season, Kentucky struggled mightily from the free throw line. After starting 8-of-11, UK finished 12-of-20, with multiple misses on the front end of one-and-ones.
