At least one NBA scout believes PJ Washington will keep his name in the draft

“If I get a second-round guarantee, I’m definitely going back to school,” Washington told the Courier-Journal. “Right now if it’s first round, I believe I should take it, if it’s second round I believe I should come back.”

According to nearly all NBA mock drafts, Washington is listed as a mid-2nd round selection. ESPN lists the 6-foot-8, 223-pound forward as the No. 51 overall prospect in 2018 and the No. 18 prospect in 2019.

None of them list Washington in the first round of this year, though John Calipari said he really helped his stock at the NBA Combine and will reach out to teams at the bottom of the round to gauge their interest.
