LEXINGTON, Ky. – Kentucky’s smothering midweek performance against winless Monmouth could be dismissed based on the quality of competition.
But after shutting down a UNC Greensboro team that ranked second in the country in field-goal percentage (53.5) entering the afternoon, en route to a 78-61 victory, perhaps the Wildcat defense is finally rounding into form.
“I’d say we’re just maturing,” graduate student Reid Travis said. “…The more games that we get to play, the more film we can watch, the more we can go back on the practice court and just work on things that we’re not doing as well .
