PARADISE ISLAND, Bahamas – There was no obvious need for Ashton Hagans on Kentucky’s 2018-19 basketball roster.
After all, John Calipari’s team already boasted two former five-star point guards, including class of 2018 signee Immanuel Quickley. But when it became clear Hagans, originally a 2019 recruit, was poised to reclassify to the 2018 class, Kentucky coaches knew adding him to the roster was worth any headache from a logjam at his position.
