Ashland Blazer (33-0) needs 12 more wins to break the state record for consecutive victories. The current record also belongs to Ashland. The 1928 team went 37-0 and the 1929 team started out the season with seven straight wins. Ashland defeated Carr Creek 13-11 in four overtimes to win the 1928 state championship. Ashland needs six wins to pass Brewers, who went undefeated in 1948. It will be interesting to see how aggressive the early season schedule is next year.
